Attuned

I've neglected this space for a while now. Lots of things have happened which have meant I've had little time. Though to be fair I've really just not had much to say. Until now.

I got attuned to Reiki 1 by Angela at ReikiStar last Friday. What a wonderful day and a lovely teacher. I'm so pleased I was guided here.

There was a lot of talking on the day, but this was fine as it allowed me to get to know Angela, and vice versa. The attunement wasn't quite what I expected but was interesting highlighting a block in my throat chakra. Amazingly quick though!

I then got to practice on Angela's husband Mike, With her support. It seems my Reiki may be very much like my mam's (very hot) it felt like my hands were on fire at times!

Before the end of the day I had some reiki from Angela. This was interesting as her reiki felt cold- like water trickling over and through me.

There's a lot to write and say but I'll leave it here for now.

:-( Unfortunately my reiki attunement has had to be postponed til November. The reiki master who is going to attune me suffered a a close loss in the family a few days ago, bless her.

She asked if we could postpone and I, although a little disappointed, totally understood. This will give me time to prepare my energy body for the attunement and get married (civil partnershipped) .

My experience

Although I'm not yet attuned I have had many Reiki treatments. My mam is a level 2 Usui reiki practitioner and a good one!

When I first had a treatment I expected it to be a calm relaxing experience. Whilst it was relaxing  it was not what I expected. Rather than my mind becoming still, thoughts raced throughout, at least the first part of the treatment. Racing thoughts didn't stop me however from drifting very quickly to sleep however. I woke feeling greatly revitalised, more present and more grounded.

My mam's reiki has a lot of heat and feels very very powerful. I've had reiki from another practitioner and while it didn't feel like it had as much oomph I could still feel the reiki. The reiki from this practitioner felt a little more delicate and subtle. A different flavour if you will.

The start of an interesting journey

I've been really interested in reiki for many years and am now finally getting round to getting my level 1 usui attunement. On the 23rd  of September I'll be getting my attunement from Angela at Reiki Star.

My intention is to use this blog as a means of recording my progress. I'm hoping Reiki will open doors for me possibly a new career? It would be nice but this isn't crucial. I'll be fulfilling something I've wanted for a long time :-).

I'm not without experience in the area of reiki and energy work and that's what I plan to post about on the run up to my attunement. I've read about several steps that might be good preparation for my attunement  and there are other preparations I'd like to make before I'm attuned.
